ROCKINGHAM REGION

The City of Rockingham is located approximately 45 km south of Perth. It is the fifth largest local government in Western Australia and the State’s fourth fastest growing (in population terms).  Home to people from 117 nationalities and cultures, the City’s population is currently 137,279 and is forecast to increase to 239,147 people by 2046.

The City is a rapidly developing residential area, with substantial industrial and commercial areas, and a naval base on Garden Island.

The City is bounded by the City of Kwinana in the north, the Serpentine-Jarrahdale Shire in the east, the Shire of Murray and the City of Mandurah in the south and the Indian Ocean in the west. It encompasses a total land area of approximately 260 square kilometres, including significant areas of coastline and parkland.

With 37 km of breathtaking coastline, the area is known for its pristine beaches, nearby Penguin Island, dolphins and seals frequenting the area, and adventure experiences.
